Liljeholmstorget Galleria
Liljeholmstorget is the largest development project in Citycon's history and the first construction project of a totally new shopping centre. In the autumn 2006, Citycon acquired a shopping centre project located in a traffic hub in Liljeholmen, Stockholm. The project included an existing office and retail building and building right for a new shopping centre. The construction project started in spring 2007. Citycon refurbished totally the old building, built a three-storey shopping centre in connection to the building and excavated a parking garage to 900 cars underneath the nearby apartment buildings. 72 apartments were built in connection with the shopping centre and sold to a residential investor.
The almost fully let new shopping centre opened its doors in October 2009. The gross leasable area of Liljeholmstorget is 28000 square meters and there are some 90 stores. The total investment is approximately EUR 200 million.
Liljeholmstorget is a forerunner in sustainability and it was awarded the platinum LEED® environmental certificate, the highest of its kind. Liljeholmstorget's certificate is the first platinum level certificate awarded to a shopping centre in Europe.
