DUO offers an outstanding selection of daily consumer goods, complemented by café services and specialty stores.
This shopping centre, located in the suburb of Hervanta in Tampere, was named DUO in 2007 after the completion of an extension. This extension doubled the shopping centre's area and revamped its service offering. Today, the centre houses a café, restaurants, specialist retailers in clothing & fashion, daily consumer goods and other specialty stores and services. Shopping centre DUO offers something for everyone, conveniently and within easy reach.
Shopping centre DUO is located in the heart of Hervanta, the largest suburb of Tampere with almost 25,000 inhabitants, including students of the local university. Hervanta lies on a central axis bordering on the main local traffic routes, Hervannan valtaväylä and Insinöörinkatu. On weekdays, DUO is visited by some 12,500 customers, on Saturdays by 9,000 and on Sundays, by 4,000. The number of inhabitants in the catchment area is 38,500, with 19,800 households.

Citycon opened a shopping centre Duo in Tampere, Hervanta year 2007. The projected was started in 2005. The shopping centre consists of two parts: the original Hervanta retail centre and the new building developed by Citycon. The original part of Duo, completed in 1979 was designed by famous Finnish architects Raili ja Reima Pietilä. The shopping centre Duo has now 15,500 metres of leasable area.
Duo is an urban district in the southern part of Tampere. The area is under active residential construction and it provides approximately 10,000 workplaces including the Tampere University of Technology. Duo development project answered the needs of the entire area Hervanta. Hervanta´s prior lack of certain specialist retail services led people to take their purchasing power elsewhere. The purchasing power is added even more as the new Vuores urban district in being built next to Hervanta.

DUO’s strengths are its three large food stores, which attract the local residents to the shopping centre on a daily basis.
The bookstore is able to bring new customers to the shopping centre while also benefiting from the daily flow of regular customers.
Our business operations have developed in a positive direction constantly. Citycon has organised various commercial events in collaboration with the marketing team. DUO is a clean and safe retail centre. Another great advantage is the free hour of parking in the under-cover car park.
Environment-friendliness is another positive aspect. For a specialist shop, a further advantage is that the opening hours are on Sundays discretionary.
