Stakeholder Engagement during Construction

In connection to all development projects and major redevelopment projects Citycon invites the local community to hear about the project and voice their possible concerns in face-to-face meetings attended by Citycon development officers, and are often arranged together with local City officials. During development projects Citycon regularly informs local residents of progress and possible disturbances caused by the construction process.

As an example of community engagement in our development projects, we arranged workshops with local youths in connection with the Iso Omena extension project. In the workshops the youths could present their ideas and wishes concerning the project, and many of these ideas were implemented. Examples range from charging points for mobile phones integrated into the seating area in the common areas of the centre to a large clock in the main square.
