At its annual conference, the European Public Real Estate Association (EPRA), representing listed real-estate companies, acclaimed Citycon's Annual and Sustainability Report 2012 as one of the best in the industry. Citycon won, for the fourth year in a row, the gold award in the Financial Best Practices series and has received the gold-level award in the new Sustainability Best Practices series for the second time now.

‘We are very pleased with this recognition. We aim to provide accurate, transparent, and relevant information on the company to the financial markets and all stakeholders. The recognition that we have received for the fourth year in a row from the EPRA indicates that we have succeeded well in turning this desire into reality,’ says Eero Sihvonen, Citycon Executive Vice President and CFO.

Every year, the EPRA assesses the annual reports and financial statement materials of 86 European listed real-estate companies and rewards the companies that produce the best reports.

This year, 18 companies were granted EPRA gold recognition for their annual report and eight companies for their sustainability report.

 Green Star recognition

Citycon was honoured also with Green Star status in the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) assessment. Citycon received this recognition for the second year in a row for its outstanding management and handling of key sustainability issues.

‘We are happy to see that our efforts with sustainability issues are being recognised. And our plan is to use the GRESB survey as a useful benchmarking tool to improve our sustainability performance still further,’ says Senior Vice President for Development and Sustainability Marko Juhokas.

The GRESB Report and Survey Results for 2013 are based on sustainability data gathered from 543 property companies and funds, providing aggregate information on 49,000 properties, around the globe.
