The French fashion chain Promod will open its first store in the Nordic countries at Citycon´s shopping centre Koskikeskus, in Tampere, Finland on Thursday, August 11.

“Promod sells fashionable and feminine clothes and clothing accessories, at reasonable prizes. These collections are designed for people of all ages, including adult women. We believe that Promod genuinely offers a new concept” says Beatrice Gustafsson, CEO of 4Vision Oy, representing Promod in Finland.

Promod decided to open in Koskikeskus because the shopping centre is currently under major redevelopment.

“We are looking to the future and believe that, after the redevelopment project, Koskikeskus will be a truly modern shopping centre”, Gustafsson continues.

Citycon is delighted to be welcoming a new, strong operator to Koskikeskus.

“We believe that Promod will complement and diversify our fashion selection in Koskikeskus. This is certainly a brand which should interest our customers. We are delighted to have a new, strong tenant, which we believe will be a success in Tampere,” says Pekka Helin, Commercial Director of Citycon.

Promod aims to expand in Finland, opening over 10 stores during the next couple of years. Promod was founded in 1975. Today the chain has over 890 stores in 49 countries around the world.

Begun in the spring of 2011, the Koskikeskus redevelopment project will see the entire renewal of the shopping centre interiors and exteriors. Citycon will invest EUR 37.9 million in the project, which will be finished in the autumn of 2012. However, Koskikeskus will be open as normal during the entire period, since the project is being completed in phases.
