The new Lippulaiva offers everything that the residents in the Espoonlahti area need in their daily lives. The shopping centre is strongly focused on groceries and services. Lippulaiva offers approximately 100 different shops, cafés, restaurants and services. The anchor tenants of the shopping centre include the Espoonlahti regional library, Elixia fitness centre, English-language daycare centre Pilke Playschool as well as grocery stores such as K-Supermarket, Prisma, Lidl and Tokmanni. Upon opening, more than 90 per cent of Lippulaiva’s business premises will already be leased.
Excellent location
The shopping centre is located in the prosperous and fast-growing Espoonlahti area, where the population growth and density are the highest in the entire Helsinki Metropolitan Area. The catchment area of the shopping centre is extensive: within 20 minutes’ walk live approximately 18,000 people and within 10 minutes drive more than 105,000.
Lippulaiva the flagship of local energy production
Lippulaiva will be the flagship of local energy production, as the largest geothermal heating and cooling facility for a commercial building in Europe has been built under the shopping centre, and it generates carbon-free energy to meet almost the entire heating and cooling needs of the shopping centre.
Lippulaiva is nearly a zero-energy building which has been designed in accordance with the LEED Gold standard. The Espoonlahti metro station and bus terminal connected to the shopping centre, excellent bicycle connections in the area and environmentally friendly solutions contribute to the reduction of environmental impacts.
Living in the prime location
A total of eight residential blocks with 560 new apartments are under construction in the immediate vicinity of Lippulaiva. It is estimated that they will be completed between 2022 and 2024.
Citycon is constructing four apartment blocks of 4–14 storeys and 275 apartments at the north-western end of Lippulaiva above the bus terminal. The first apartment block will be completed at the end of 2022 and the other three in early 2023. The construction of two of the apartment blocks has not yet begun. This marks the first time that Citycon has carried out its own rental housing production.
The building rights for two of the apartment blocks have been sold to construction company Hausia. The apartment blocks will consist of owner-occupied apartments, and these blocks will be completed during 2022.
