Our service partners are crucial for the daily operations and success of our centres. In September 2023, Citycon’s centres in Finland took part in the International Housekeeping Week (IHW). IHW is a week dedicated to recognising the contribution of the personnel taking care of our properties: namely the staff from cleaning, security, and maintenance.  

We participated in the week together with our cleaning service provider RTK, our security service Securitas, and our maintenance partner Are.

Observing, learning, and having fun

During the week, our own personnel was divided into teams that worked hand in hand with our service partners. The goal was to both observe and learn what it takes to keep our centres clean, safe, and functional.

At the end of the week, the whole event was wrapped up with a party and an award ceremony rewarding team members, voted by the teams themselves.

The week was a success. In addition to shedding light on the important work carried out by our service partners, the week promoted the community spirit in our centres and lowered the threshold even further for mutual communication with our service partners.

And above all, during the week each one of us had fun.

IHW will be implemented in all our centres in 2024

Citycon’s centres in Finland participated in IHW for the first time in 2022. The week was piloted in our centre Iso Omena in Espoo.

The IHW will be held again in September 2024 and Citycon will be a part of it. Following the good experiences of our personnel, we will take a step further as the week will be implemented in all of our centres across the Nordics and in Estonia.
